Hawkeye Community College to Host Cedar Valley Manufacturing Conference October 18

WATERLOO–Hawkeye Community College will host the annual Cedar Valley Manufacturing Conference on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 8:00am-3:00pm at the Van G. Miller Adult Learning Center, 120 Jefferson St., Waterloo, Iowa.
The conference will focus on Industry 5.0, the emerging phase of industrialization focused on people working alongside robots and smart machines. Also known as the fifth industrial revolution, Industry 5.0 is about robots helping humans worker better and faster by leveraging the Internet of Things and large-scale data.
Other topics include a panel discussion on recruitment and retention; a presentation on appreciating clients, customers, and coworkers; and becoming more sustainable. The day will close with the State of Manufacturing in Iowa with the opportunity to tour Hawkeye’s new Automation and Robotics Center at the TechWorks Campus.
There is no cost to attend the conference. The registration deadline is Friday, October 13.
